What is VHS Cinema?

Hey that’s a great question! VHS Cinema – so far – is simply a page dedicated to honoring everything VHS. This is set to include everything from the earliest days of Betamax and VHS, through the heydays of VHS, and into the modern reminanents of VHS culture on mainstream film and cinema.

How does the VHS Cinema Club work?

The VHS Cinema Club is a – currently limited – monthly subscription service that sends each member a random VHS each month. These “random” VHS will come from the VHS Cinema library and network and are curated to represent the best, weirdest and – sometimes – worst that the format has ever seen.

How much does it cost?

At the current time, the VHS Cinema Club membership is $5 per month, or $60 a year (along with some yearly subscription bonus at sign up – tbd).

Can I exchange the VHS that I receive?

So, while VHS Cinema will not be offering exchanges (unless the VHS is defective upon delivery – see below), VHS Cinema does encourage YOU to reach out to friends or other VHS collectors to see about trading your VHS for one more suited for your collection. That’s VHS baby!

What if the VHS doesn’t work?

If you receive a VHS in the mail that doesn’t work upon first viewing, let us know and we can send you a replacement VHS. By their nature, VHS are not perfect and do deteriorate over time. However, that’s also what makes collecting VHS fun and unique.
